A good read on the Romanian revolution?

Any recommendations on a good book about the Romanian revolution? Including the eventual overthrow, trial and execution of the Ceausescu's?

Nobody reads books nowadays but there's a few Youtube documentaries on the event, trial and they even show the execution of the Ceausescu's. I watched them a while ago out of curiosity as well.

I've been quite interested in that part of Romanian history for a while. Have watched alot of youtube video's about it. And watched the last speech, trial and execution on youtube. I feel a book would explain it better. In more detail.

So far iv'e only read about it on Wikipedia. But who knows about wikipedia.

I also just wonder if this was a US influenced Gadafi, Saddam type of overthrow. But i doubt it. I genuinely think that Nikolai was a total narcissist. Building all those grand building whilst the people starved.

I also just wonder if this was a US influenced Gadafi, Saddam type of overthrow. But i doubt it.

Most likely it was since the year correlates with communism and the berlin wall collapsing in estern Europe around the same time. And then the civil war in Yugoslavia happened, the EU wanted to accept Yugoslavia into their union but the US wanted it dismembered.

It amazes me that the world ended up rejecting communism fiercely, yet there are people who wish for it's revival. They usually use the same excuse that "it wasn't true communism".

The only form of communism that was remotely good was that of Socialist Yugoslavia. Even that was only temporary. And had it's own shortcomings.

Tito gave you a Republic that you didn't deserve among a few other ethnicities. I wouldn't consider it remotely good if i were you. The majority of partisan fighters were Serbs. None of you deserved a Republic.

My Great grandfather lost his legs to frost bite fighting the fascists in Albania. Alot of my ancestors, and that of other Macedonians were partisans.
