If populations which exist today were completely isolated for long enough they would turn into completely different species if there is no geneflow at all. Some are worried that all humans might turn into mixed race humans, but the other side of the coin is that they will turn into different species. I prefer if there is only one human species.

That's not how it works at all. If I remember correctly all it takes is 10 000 people to have a healthy gene pool.Even less than that but I'm being generous. There were studies done in Iceland and marriages between third, fourth and up cousins produced a healthy offspring. You won't stop evolution even if you tried, it's impossible to mix everyone. Your worries about humans becoming something worse if they don't mix are nonsensical. And it seems that you didn't read what's on the first page of this thread at all - everything related to race mixing.

Actually I read somewhere that 500 people would be enough to have a viable population. I'm not sure if it's true, but with tens or hundreds of thousands there should be no problems.

Yes, I've read that too, I think it's called the 50/500 rule, although some people still question it. But I remember reading somewhere about the 5000-10 000 range and pretty much everyone agrees that it's the safest range with absolutely no concerns

Yes, I've read 50 for the short term and 500 for the long term. There are problems when people use to marry among first cousins, but even the population of a small region in an European country would be perfectly viable, so inbreeding cannot be an argument for race-mixing. There are small tribes in the Amazonas and New Guinea that are still isolated, and yet have survived for a long time.

About the 50/500 rule? Yes not all experts agree even if it was used for animal conservation. A meta-analysis from 2007 suggests 4-5000 individuals as minimum viable population among vertebrates species. https://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...534?via%3Dihub
