Incest: How common do you think it is?

Because of the universal taboo, I think it goes widely unreported, and only surfaces when one party (usually a child) objects.

It could be even more common in societies where sexuality is suppressed, as in Muslim countries. Easier to 'get laid' in the home than outside.

Actually the British territory of St Helena has the lowest rate of HIV, at 0%. Muslim countries like Malaysia have fairly high rates.

As you can see, Russia has a far higher HIV rate than the West, but Muslim Somalia, Sudan etc. also have far higher HIV rates.

I'll give you alcoholism. I admire Muslims for that. But of course Russia has the highest levels of it; after the fall of the USSR their life expectancy dropped a decade due to it.

I think there could also be correlation between beeing 'keener' to incest and being Atheists.

Atheists seem to give the green light to incest.

Over here, Pakistani Muslims are the ones who commit the incest, Mehmet, and they commit it so often a lot of them are developing some really horrible conditions caused by heterozygous mutations (which are due to incest).
