Here are some google searches and people can see if these statistics look anyway accurate. I haven't even looked at these too closely myself. They are from southwest counties in Ireland i.e. Tipperary and Kerry.

Pretty difficult to ascertain correctly hair colour but gives a general idea. They are also lots of group photos that can be clicked on which then gives more group photos. These are all GAA players/Camogie and not people with dyed hair.

Anyway these types of amateur studies are to be taken with a pinch of salt and will be very subjective and not accurate. They just add interest to this forum but some of the statistics are very dubious.

Yes this guy is an amateur, definitely not a professional.

Interesting... These group pictures only reiterate my idea (also put forward by physical anthropologists before) that UP CM element (characterized by box-ish heads, light skin but brown hair as adults) is dominant in all parts of Ireland (and Northern Europe, in general). The fact that genetics seems to prove it's the least important element falls in absolute conflict with visual evidence... I first trust what I see: the Irish animal more or less looks like a gracilized version of same people that lived there 10.000 years ago!

Irish are majority descendants of Bronze Age Beakers that arrived approx 5,000 years ago. This is why they are majority R1b-L21. They have a relatively high Steppe component. The highest in the Isles.
