Why don't most Americans get a maid or a babysitter?(Do the wealthy one's do?)

How is Argentina compared to the more Amerindian countries? From what I understand Chileans have nanny and maids but I'm since Argentina have more labor rights, I'm wondering how that works.

I can't imagine that many Americans can easily afford rent, with two incomes, much less get a maid... geez.

My mother, however, is a cleaning lady... Upper middle-class people hire her to come by occassionally or a couple days a week.
