    In Germany there is a name Desiree, and Desi could be a abbrevation of the name. But why does it matter we arent speaking about names but ethnicities. Desi is a common term for people of southasian origins.

    Yea, that makes sense -- Desiree in the German language surely can be shortened to Desi. Yea, you're right, it doesn't matter much. But, I felt it incumbent to point that out, because we can forget that words are sometimes applicable in different ways.

    Anyway, that "Desi" fashion style is quite interesting. I like it a lot! Perhaps, it's a good idea to wear it around, that way you'll be able to intuitively sense whether people take a liking to it.

    Surely, it harkens back to some fashions from ancient times. Tonight, I saw someone, clearly Indian, whom wears a very similar "Desi" attire to your's, but his is far more colorful, more like the attire of some ancient Middle Eastern and North African Civilizations. I encountered him at the Whole Foods grocery store. Seriously, I think he looks pious, like a holy man from an ashram, temple or monastery.
