his words about his origin - -So the 23andMe DNA test yielded results that are not that surprising. I'm about equal parts British and Irish and Britain and France. However the most interesting result from my test is that I have 12% Scandinavian blood. The country that the test comes back to is Sweden. I know of no Scandinavian ancestors that I have but the ancestry of my mother's biological father is unknown save that her mother said he was "of German and Irish ancestry" which is a common lineage in the heavily German and substantially Irish Pennsylvania. However Pennsylvania is also in close proximity to the former New Sweden colony in the colonial era and its not impossible that I have ancestors from that colony. Anyways the problem is that the ancestry.com test does not list Scandinavian DNA as anything but trace low confidence regions. So can anyone who knows anything about these tests tell me the likelihood that I actually have Scandinavian ancestors?-
