Aren't those mostly Jewish surnames under "White"? I'm surprised there isn't more variety.

90% of Washington's are Black! Shocking as they are a much smaller population than white Americans (~13% vs ~55%). I can see why they would choose that name upon being freed. I would like to know which surname is most shared between Hispanic and Anglo/Black Americans, are there any that wouldn't give you away as either?

Curiously, some of the most common 'biracial' or more than two races surnames are exclusively Portuguese or most common in the Lusophone world.

    I wonder the reasons why.

These go by odds, so naturally, much of the English/Scottish/Welsh names will belong to blacks, whose ancestors would've largely belonged to families of said stock, there's also the mixture involved.

Well, Ashkenazis pretty much all have Germanized names but I know those. They're all German bar Novak, which is Czech(pretty common background around here). Yoder, I think, is Swiss German. How numerous are Germans in the Cascadia area? I'd have thought there was a decent amount.

We've got some other Czech names, although Czechs are nowhere near as numerous as Poles here, she's probably our most famous Novak.

Yes I know. Nevertheless Novak is quiet frequent lastnames among Croats, and Nowak among Poles.
