I'd say South Brazil (and also Southeastern Brazil) is less Amerindian than Uruguay. South Brazil does have a little bit more SSA influence though. There are some parts of South Brazil which have Southeastern Brazilian levels of SSA admixture and these parts ''darken'' the region.
Uruguay is around 80% European, 13% Amerindian and 7% SSA on average. South Brazil is similar, but with inverted Amerindian and SSA percentages: 80% European, 12% SSA and 8% Amerindian.

Totally agree with you.
Indeed south Brazil being 8% amerindian is close to the national average which is 8/11%.
Brazil, Uruguay, Cuba, RD and Puerto Rico are the latinamerican countries which have less amerindian average %.
In that list Puerto Rico is the one which reaches more amerindian average, around 15% and Cuba the least, around 7/8%.

The average Amerindian gene in Uruguay is 10% the people of the cities like Montevideo is possible that even have less, the border areas of Uruguay with Brazil have more Amerindian and SSA.
Another thing Uruguay has more European percentage and SSA that Argentina, however also has less Amerindian.
I was always curious about black Uruguayans.
