Scotland has highest drug death rate in EU

Scotland’s drugs death rate is now higher than the USA and every other country in Europe, and three times the UK average, according to shocking new figures.

The statistics released on Tuesday revealed that 1,187 people died following drug use last year, an increase of 27 per cent on 2017.

Methadone, the heroin substitute prescribed by the NHS to help heroin users, caused more deaths than the drug it is meant to replace and contributed to nearly half the total mortality figure.

The National Records of Scotland said the country now had a higher mortality rate than the whole of Europe.

In the US, the latest figures suggest a drug death rate of 217 per million people, compared to a figure in Scotland of 218 per million.

Ironically some scots are callously blaming the Tories for the continual rise in junkies in Scotland in the comments section under that recent news report video, instead of taking responsibility for their own actions. It's nowt to do with the Tories. Blame everyone else... except themselves.

Brown demanded for Iceland to repay all the lost money by imposing life-long high taxes on the Icelandic people to repay it all, when it wasn't the Icelandic peoples fault for the collapse of Icesave. Scottish Gordon Brown was also the former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer who overspent and led the UK into debt - and he tried to make the British people pay for the collapse of the UK bank Northern Rock, before angry British people silently protested by moving their savings into off-shore Irish banks to avoid the UK taxes on savings Brown imposed to cover for Northern Rock.

The Scots can't blame the Conservative Party for everything... look at this chart (below) and all the many years when the left-wing/socialist Blair/Brown Labour Party (with many Scottish Labour MP's in powerful UK government positions) were in power for over a decade between 1997-2010.... the drug rate still rose in those years too under a Labour government.

Now I can see why the Scots voted against UK independence from the EUSSR... and why anti-Brexit protesters in Scotland held-up placards after the UK Brexit referendum stating 'immigrants are welcome in Scotland!' I can see why they wish to remain controlled by the foreign unelected EU Presidents in Brussels.... because they're doped and stoned out of their minds.

Some stereotypes are true, I guess. The Scots are known for abusing heroin and alcohol, and yes, having obesity-related morbidity. I just can't understand why, though.

I personally don't feel anything against the Scots, (sometimes I'm ok with them - and sometimes they get on my nerves,) and at the moment I feel annoyed with the Scots as they voted against UK independence from the EU. (They keep whinging about wanting independence from Wales, England, and NI - yet want to remain governed by foreign unelected EU Presidents. Having the vast majority of your laws made by foreign MEP's in Brussels is not true independence.) I think a lot of pro Brexit voters across England and Wales feel annoyed with them, and our country has never felt so divided as it is at the moment in the UK.

I've met Scots here. People here (including migrants) struggled to understand what they were saying and we had to keep saying ,'Excuse me?' and 'pardon?'.... and 'Sorry, could you repeat that please?'
