this is a thread where people can talk about the Gaulish language, people, and their genetic and cultural impact on Europe today. I would implore you not to make asterix jokes or post pictures of inaccurate, wing helmeted savage Gauls being held up on shields, but I won't stop you...
I'll start by saying the this map of French and German admixture in Europe makes me think that it represents Gaulish admixture for the most part, and that the broadly northwest European category is actually more likely to represent west and maybe east Germanic
