He was confirmed R1a-M458. The relative they originally tested was a false Tesla (his paternal ancestor took his wifes surname, who was a Tesla). Confirmed paternal relatives were tested R1a.We can't leave out this big fella:

According to one user on anthrogenica; the area of south-west Ukraine where ph908 has its highest diversity had almost no population until the 18th century, and was repopulated from all over the Russian empire so the ph908 there isn't "native". I've no clue how true this is or not since I know nothing about Ukraine's history during those years. But I think it's all meaningless until ancient dna samples are found, since we have 0 medieval ph908 samples.
