I notice , at least in my area, most blacks have English surnames. Names like Carter, Washington, Phillips, Watson, Brown, etc. Is that the name they adopted from their servitude days? You never meet a black with a German name or something. Most slave owners were Englishmen. I wonder how they feel about that....

They do because during Colonial America the slave masters named their slaves after them and then they turned that into surnames later.

Every Jamaican person I've met has a Scottish surname name; Jamaican girl I knew before told me her name came from their Scottish plantation owner back in the day.

One thing the Germans get off the hook for is the slavery. You'd never see a name like Shaniqua Duesseldorf.
