Autosomal ancestry
The Ethiopian Jews' autosomal DNA has been examined in a comprehensive study by Tishkoff et al. (2009) on the genetic affiliations of various populations in Africa. According to Bayesian clustering analysis, the Beta Israel generally grouped with other Cushitic and Ethiosemitic-speaking populations inhabiting the Horn of Africa.[79][6][7][8]

A 2010 study by Behar et al. on the genome-wide structure of Jews observed that the Beta Israel had levels of the Middle Eastern genetic affinity similar to the Ethiosemitic-speaking Tigrayans and Amharas.[80][6][7][8]

The Beta Israel are autosomally closer to other populations from the Horn of Africa than to any other Jewish population, including Yemenite Jews.[79][80]

A number of other DNA studies have been done on the Beta Israel.[81]

I wonder which Ethiopian ethnic group they are closest to. If there was an academic study on them, there must be some data for Gedmatch.

they cluster with Amharas and Tigrayans, Oromos are away from this cluster, there's a pca on the link.

I think they are 50-55% Black. The Ethiopian HGs were full blacks, a study said. Peterski uploaded that sample to GED, it came out as ~80% NE African and 20% SSA on Eurogenes which is of course not the best run for such type of ancestry.
