but people here claim that pred SSA afro latinos are very rare LOL and that people who look like him are 50% European, and that is because black genes are dominant LMAO
Afro Panamnians have been coming out pred SSA on their 23andme results
afro brazilians like him are very common in the afro brazilian population, second most common phenotype
so for those who like claiming pred SSA latinos are rare and that the average is mulatto, then they clearly have no idea about blacks in Latin America
plain and simple

yeah, I would like for there to be a study of afro latinos from all across latin america
and those with 4 self identified black grandparents
the problem with these studies is that they gather samples from middle class or university students, thus we know due to racism that those blacks tend to be more euro admix
i have yet to see a study on the lower class or those from the favelas, or from real black communities
self identified is not the same as being black
you and i are both self identified blacks, but we dont have 4 grandparents who are black
therefore, studies like that should exclude us
there has been such a trendy thing to claim blackness now a days, you can be as white as snow and still claim being black
its the thing to be at the moment, the hottest trend right now for those who want to be seen "cool"
these studies are not getting black latinos from here
they are getting afro latinos like this
afro latinos like this will be more common in the urban city areas
while afro latinos like those in the video are found in black latino communities from their nation
although also found in the cities but most of those blacks have a non-black parent already

That makes 100% sense. This is why I am against saying I am Black to the census. I know I am not pure or pred SSA, so I say I am mixed to the census. But socially speaking, I am Black. As I mentioned a while back, some poor communities are out of reach for the rest of the society (both in terms of favelas and uncontacted tribes) and therefore, we won't have a representative figure for Brazil anytime soon. I don't believe for one second that Brazil is only average 18-20% SSA. I'd say it is around 30% in reality.
