Due to hispanic migration, will soccer become the most popular sport in the US?

Hey guys,
I'm wondering if due to the hispanic influence America will embrace soccer. People are saying soccer's outlook is different given that the Copa America Centenario was hosted in the US and was a great success.

Not true, soccer stadiums get filled up in the USA for a reason
and why many of the USA soccer teams have tons of Hispanic fanatics

Nope. It's not even on the radar as it is. The country would have to become at least 3/4 Latino for that to even become possible.

they're already like 1/5 of the US population and soccer is still not very popular in the usa, so I would not think so. Presumably most latinos assimilate into American culture rather than the other way around

No way. Soccer will never be a major sport here, and certainly not the most popular one. There's no soccer culture.

That is not true
Americans just have a preference from European soccer leagues rather than their own
which is why they tune in (million viewers from America) to the European soccer tournaments
Not to mention the World Cup is also viewed by millions


MLS is now importing European soccer players
as well as top ones from Latin America to attract more viewers and fanatics

I also think the problem comes when America doesn't win in the men's soccer team LOL
therefore they do not find that sport appealing

but when it comes to the women's soccer team, you will have millions of Americans tuning in to support them

Soccer is much more serious in the US than it used to be (whether due to Hispanics or other factors). Still, even in Miami and LA it is far from being the most popular sport.

Descendants of Hispanic immigrants will become soccer-hating Americans just like the rest of us. Same goes for descendants of all other immigrants coming from countries that enjoy that tedious sport. American football is much better.
