Due to hispanic migration, will soccer become the most popular sport in the US?

I don't think the kind of Mexicans that are immigrating to the US en masse are the type who attend or watch professional soccer matches.

First of all, Mexicans aren't immigrating en masse to the USA. As a matter of fact, Mexican immigration to its northern neighbor has been declining since 2000. The people immigrating en masse and seeking asylum are coming from Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador...contrary to popular belief among White Americans, these countries aren't in Mexico.

First, amerindians are badly footballers. Just look how Bolivians and Peruvians rarely win anything. Your hispanics are Central Americans and Mexicans (I have never seen they winning anything on football)

Second, mexicans, especially mexican-americans rarely watch football matches, I should know more mexican teams than themselves.

Third, football in US is only strong amongst women, it is seen as a female sport and female sports are not followed by anyone.

Mexican soccer team won the Gold Medal at the 2012 London Olympic games, beating Brazil. Mexico has won regional tournaments as well and beat Germany in Russia during the 2018 World Cup. Now, what exactly have Greece and Armenia won recently that could be worthy of praise?

Yes I think it likely. It is odd that America has managed to resist the growth of Soccer as the most popular sport. Its just so accessible, you just need a ball and a bit of space to have a fair bit of fun.

I predicted that soccer would blow up in the usa via the following process: It will spread from the Hispanic community to the black community in the USA they live in somewhat close proximity and it requires barely any resources to play, so lack of money or space is not much of an impediment. It is like basketball in that you can do skills and humiliate your opponent in 1v1 games, and entertain people hanging around, I can see this being popular in Urban communities who would like to 'show off' a little like they do similarly with basketball. In the UK black people love soccer a lot and they have a similar culture to those in the USA. If it becomes a feature of Urban culture it will blow up due to Urban cultural influence in mainstream US pop culture. It seems my prediction hasn't really come true, but maybe it will yet, or maybe soccer will take a different path to popularity.

USA being a multicultural nation may also do well to embrace the sport as the national team would likely be quite multicultural, a fairly even mix of whites/hispanics/blacks, maybe even with the odd Asian person. Black people are a bit better at soccer but wont dominate by the extreme margin that they do in sports requiring more raw athleticism like American Football.

Also it is odd that British and European people get funny about the word Soccer. My Grandparents always called it Soccer.

American football sucks to watch but I am sure it will always be more popular. It is more like rugby but slower and more tedious to watch.

I prefer football (in the traditional sense) but I may have a cultural bias because my dad is Italian.

No way. Soccer will never be a major sport here, and certainly not the most popular one. There's no soccer culture.

It already is a major sport here. The MLS is not a major league and probably won't be for a long time, but many people play it.

Generally here in NY, white people didn't care about soccer but almost everyone else played it and followed it. It was very popular among Hispanics obviously and also decently popular among Blacks (most of whom are from the Caribbean).

Because it makes more sense to call it football. Also, I've noticed many Europeans are starting to call it soccer even when talking among themselves. There's a British YouTuber (whose name escapes me) that calls it soccer as well. Maybe they noticed this occurring and are getting defensive as a result? Also, is it true that Brits sometimes say "movies" instead of "cinema" nowadays?

Maybe not the most popular sport, but in a decade soccer will part of the bis sport in usa. But it will not be due to the hispanic immigration.

But in terms of viewership, I don't think it will be big. The MLS is pretty boring/low standard and Americans won't watch European matches as much cause its harder to relate to foreign domestic teams and cause of the time zone difference.
