Danube Swabians mostly originated from Bavaria, Baden-Würtemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, very few from Austria. In Vojvodina (Banat) even settled certain number of Germans from Alsace and also real French people in 18th century who are later germanized. Probably some Danube Swabians from Hungary also originated from Alsace.
