I'm specifically asking how the North American continent would be today if British and French would have not successfully consolidated their presence in there, and only Spaniards would have sooner or later colonized it all (not only exploring it), even in the eastern coasts, up to New Scotland, and founding forts and cities along the Mississippi, Ohio and Saint Laurent rivers.

North America would have been no different from other Latin American countries which would have been race mixed and etc. But I think it would have resembled more closely to Argentina or Uruguay than say to Mexico or something since there aren't many Native American peoples in contrast to other regions of the Americas in my opinion.

Yeah, you know it's pretty awful what happened... I know Loki's going to give me a thumbs-down, but I've lived in plenty of places in the US that had a Spanish and French (that is, Catholic) colonial history, and these cities were vibrant and beautiful with literary societies and poetry and everything else, then at some point The Protestants move in and everything's gone. Everyone's suddenly just a working slob and praising Jesus.

It really opened my mind, though, when I first moved to the South from up North and our history lessons were so different; I had only ever been taught the history of English colonialism up until then.

I don't know about that... I'm not sure the Spanish really got along any better with the North American Amerinds than the Brits did... I guessing they found the South Amerinds sexier...

Well, they weren't as distasteful to them as their British counterparts, so it's a possibility that they wouldn't really had any problems with them whatsoever.

The influence of the Spaniards in United States is very small compared to the British.
