Majority of Balkan Turks live in Balkans, and they weren’t even Turks a few generations back.

By that logic, French are darker than Turks on average.

    That is not true.

Majority of Balkan Turks moved to Turkey after Balkan Wars and WWI. We are still majority in many cities such as all cities in Thrace, Bursa and Izmir.

There was no substantial number of Balkan Muslims that moved to Turkey, which is why we still have Bosnian Muslims, Albanians, and Pomaks in Greece. These are not Turkified although mixed marriages with Turks may occur.

Only some Albanians and Greek Muslims moved to Turkey and their numbers were not enough to make an impact on the local population.

Cities like Istanbul and Adana are nowadays filled with Kurds or Turks from the eastern provinces which make up the majority of the population.

Balkan Turks are genetically Balkan with significant Turkic admixture. They are not simple language shifters like Gagauz for example.

These people live in the Balkans, and most of them live in Bulgaria.

Many of them went to Turkey. Also, they are genetically different from Bulgarians and other Balkanites.

They’re also genetically much closer to Bulgarians than Turks. They get Bulgaria as first match.
