1.7 Million Protestors In Hong Kong Over The Weekend

Organisers say 1.7 million people turned out at Sunday's peaceful pro-democracy protest in Hong Kong, amid increasingly severe warnings by Beijing.

It's nice they're putting up a fight, but it's ultimately futile. Hong Kong has no real democracy, as half of the seats in their legislative council are chosen by mostly pro-Chinese business represantives. They may claim a little victory here and there, but even if they manage to slow the proces down, they will eventually become a mainstream part of China. That 'One country, two systems' thing is going to expire in 2047 anyway. That all said, again, putting up a resistance still counts.
