Makes sense. Only thing is that the West Baltic tribes no longer exist.

Belorussians are closer to East Balts and thus Modern Balts.

There are no Baltic toponyms and hydronyms in southern Belarus. It is very simple. Balts and Slavs separated long enough to be distinct, and they are. There is no purely Baltic region in Belarus, only Slavic-Baltic mixed, but there used to be purely Slavic region before mass migrations of Soviet Era.

Regional differences in European countries are becoming thimgs of the past sadly.

The Grand Duchy of Lithuania included most of the territory claimed by The Kingdom of Lithuania at the time of King Mindaugas.
Actually in western Ukraine (Kingdom of Poland) alot of peasants from northern territories of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth settled in "wild fields" where they adopted new identity as free man "Cossacks"

Just look at any PCA plot. In terms of the ancient components(WHG/steppe/etc) Poles and Belarusians will be almost exactly the same, where they differ is recent population admixture. Latvians/Lithuanians have more steppe and WHG than both Poles/Belarusians.

As for post-iron age pops, Belarusians/Lithuanians(along with east Ukrainians/SW Russians) are the least Germanic admixed populations in eastern Europe, Poland has significant Germanic admixture, Latvia/Lithuania/Belarus have little to none:

The Guanche skulls as a whole are unlike those of modern European Mediterraneans, and resemble northern European series most closely, especially those in which a brachycephalic element is present, as in Burgundian and Alemanni series.
divided them into clearly differentiated types, which include a Mediterranean, a Nordic, a "Guanche," and an Alpine. The "Guanche" accounts for 50 per cent of the whole on the four islands of Teneriffe, Gomera, Gran Canaria, and Hierro; the Nordic for 31 per cent, the Mediterranean for 13 per cent, and the Alpine

I‘m Not claiming there was unity within the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

My point is that Belarus was first part of a Lithuanian state in the 13th century.

Belorussians have had a longer political experience with Lithuanians than Poles.

In Sejm (parliament) modern territory of Belarus was represented by 134 Polish representatives from Poland and only 46 from Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Commonwealth times, do you know?

Do you know even how many Ukrainians escaped to Belarus after WWII?

Do you know how many Jewish communites have been thriving in pale of settlement Belarus since the middle ages in cities Mahilyow, Minsk, Pinsk, Babrusk, Viceibsk, Homel were all 50% or more Jewish? In 1939 Belarus was still 10% Jewish by religion.
