    Default Himmerlandic Dialect?

To Danish speakers: I know recent decades have seen a lot of dialectal leveling, but traditionally speaking, what makes or made this dialect stand out? Is there any evidence of Cimbri linguistic/cultural remnants? I am making a thread about this as curiosity, as I couldn’t find much online. Looking forward to any insights.

You should probably just have sent me a PM lol I doubt anybody knows about this.

Anyway, to answer your question. There are a couple of different dialects in Denmark. I've never heard of Himmerland dialect isolated. Himmerland is in nothern jutland. There is a general dialect in northern jutland, but it's not called himmerlandic. It's called northern jutish and there is no evidence that can be linked to northern jutish having Cimbri linguistic/cultural remnants or influences. Northern jutish is a dialect that has naturally formed itself.

Northern jutish is only very slightly different from southern jutish for example. But overall, in terms of dialects, there is no place in Denmark that can not understand other dialects. The only exception to that is very old school Bornholmic dialect, because it has swedish influences and therefore makes it hard to understand for standard danish speakers.
