From which regions of Germany do German americans have their ancestry from?

Same in Brazil.

I thought German-Brazilians were mostly from Northern Germany... But maybe I'm biased because the immigration areas I know best are heavily Pomeranian, Westphalian or Saxon. There are some Tyroleans (Austrians and Italians) but I don't see them necessarily as Germans but as their own thing.

Mine were from the Rhine River area and Leipzig/Saxony. Quite a few from Bavaria as well.

Only on my dad's mother's side. My father's side was all German, and my mother had some German ancestry, including German royalty.

My German sides from Mecklenbueg, Sleswig-Holstein, and Stuttgart, far as I know.

but in Canada they're mostly from Ex Austro-Hungarians lands, Ex Soviet countries, Prussia, Baden-Wurttemberg, rhineland.
