Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Mia, 30, from Canada. My background is metis, as in French Canadian + Aboriginal with a bit of British (Irish great-grandfather). Am interested in other cultures, world views, and history. The forum appears interesting.

Someone asked me via rep comment so I'm gonna answer for anyone else who maybe interested. What did they ask me > culturally, do you consider yourself one or the other < in relation to my ancestry. Most of my ancestry is French with an Algonquin grandmother.

I consider myself 'metis'. A mix of Europe (French) & Aboriginal culture, traditions, etc. I've attended potlatch, sweat lodges, met Elders, etc. But I speak French, eat French cuisine, etc. I wouldn't call myself either per say but, in a way, I am not neither if that makes sense.
