238 is just the number of light-eyed Dutch women.
What separated them as several percents lighter-eyed than English and Irish people were mainly the males' results (differences between females were smaller):

Light eyes among the Irish:
Men - 74,6%

I haven't conducted a survey of the Scottish or the Welsh so far and light eyes/blondism frequency is just a small part of the genetic puzzle and how nations plot, anyway.

We can't rely on your personal stats. It will also depends how you interpret hair or eye colours. I don't know what standards you've used. The Irish and Scottish according to proper standards are never darker-eyed than the Dutch, and are obviously lighter-eyed than both the English and Welsh. OK! People in northern parts of the British Isles as a whole have slightly more light and blue eyes than further south. The Irish and Scottish are similar to the Scandinavians in terms of light eyes, not much of a difference.

I posted it as it was mentioned by two members already and The One mistakenly said my statistics of the Dutch includes 238 people, when it consists of 564 in fact. Again, we don't know the criterion of many authors and how synchronized the studies you post are.
I use the same criterion every single time. If you disagree, you are free to post threads about authors you prefer, but my view is my right and my results are synchronized. The Dutch are pretty close to Scandinavians in terms of eye colour (and hair colour, too) also.
I did find more blue eyes among English males than among Dutch ones.

Who the heck cares what autosomal DNA maps say. When people think of a "northern" look most would say tall and fair. The English are darker than the Dutch and much shorter.

It's rather unlikely, given how southern shifted much of the Netherlands is. Every other study I've seen has Scots and Irish being lighter eyed, and the Dutch being less than 80%.

Idk, but it seems consistent with my personal observation that seeing English with dark eyes is a common experience, while with the natives of the Netherlands only few and far between.

Have you lived amongst English/Dutch people or is that just an observation from this forum? The English likely are darker eyed on average, to go along with them being slightly more southern shifted, but there's nothing to suggest the difference in eye colouration is very big. I agree of course that the Dutch are noticeably lighter haired, due to being more Germanic.
