Sounds like you need a holiday break and like you're craving to travel and see new places. Why not book or plan a holiday break instead? Do you have any ideas of countries you'd like to visit?

You could explore the nations that you're interested in or curious about.... and spend some time there to get a real feel of the place. Whatever other peoples experiences of a place may be - each person has their own experiences of a country. (So if someone else loves or hates a certain place - you may not feel the same way as them whilst there.)

People feel refreshed and less stressed or depressed after a holiday. (Or 'vacation' as you call holidays in the U.S.)

I learned many things about anthropology, genetics, culture, etc, here. You probably will too.

The internet is probably the only place to learn about racial anthropology today. You certainly won’t learn it in any university. It’s a shame that the field wasn’t allowed to continue and become more sophisticated after 1945.

I feel much more depressed and angry after a holiday/vacation. So much so, in fact, that I abhor the idea of a holiday. Why visit a place that's so much better than the place I live, knowing I have to come back and deal with it for the rest of my life.

I miss Europe terribly but hate the idea that if I go to visit I would have to come back. Or Florida, for that matter...

Welcome, and you're certainly not alone here. I personally think the Balkans are the last hope for civilization... But it wouldn't work if suddenly loads of Americans showed up looking for jobs...

    Welcome, suppose.

The irony, of course, about your complaints is you list yourself as German/Irish. So, in essence, Anglo unless you have a German name or speak German. The likeness you've faced any true discrimination, harassment, etc. by the majority population of "awful" Anglo Americans is limited. The worse thing you've likely faced is living in the wrong neighborhood.

Trump's the best of the three stooges (Obama, Clinton, Trump).

Clinton (and by extension Obama as they've a similar mentality), after all, is nothing but a poorly disguised & ignorant snake in the grass. The hypocritsy of her old pro feminism/pro gay & yes, yes yes to blindly (no screening, etc.) letting in migrants that'd rather stone a gay man to death than shake his hand or force women into burkas & undergo female genital mutilation (and yes to others on the forums well aware this mentality isn't universal, just making a point) platform was so beyond hilarious as to be downright pathetic.

Trudeau The Idiot has a similar mentality as Clinton/Obama. I've heard it from many immigrants; that before nitwit got in there was some criteria they had to pass/possess to gain access to Canadian soil. Nowadays the government let's in anyone as long as they don't have horns & purple skin and even then Mr Horns & Purple Skin would still get in by saying he's a refugee. Would you prefer that for America?

    No offense for above.

But all in all reading your responses (particularly to Lily) you sound a bit dissatisfied with your life & are blaming the easy "scapegoat" America. As Lily suggested visit other countries.

My suggestion is pick one where you & the locals don't have anywhere near the luxuries or freedoms of the US to see exactly how good you've got it. I've lived in other countries & seriously a number of people who complain about how "bad" it is in the US would book the first flight home if they tried other harder/stricter countries for a change.
