My suggestion is pick one where you & the locals don't have anywhere near the luxuries or freedoms of the US to see exactly how good you've got it. I've lived in other countries & seriously a number of people who complain about how "bad" it is in the US would book the first flight home if they tried other harder/stricter countries for a change.

You didn't. I'm trying to figure out what's your issue. Because compared to other countries in many ways America, as long as one isn't stupid or in the wrong neighborhood, is a walk in the park. Just asking. You like America's freedoms; I won't comment on the being poor because well that's a matter of option, after all, a debt of 22 trillion isn't exactly impressive.

I don’t think a country with the kind of demographic divisions that the US has is sustainable long term. The only thing keeping the various groups in the US from killing each other is our relative prosperity. The ethnic tensions grow worse and worse each year, and the economy grows just barely enough that people stay satiated. But if the American economic machine ever breaks down—and there’s reason to believe it might—I think the tensions will spill over into major violence.

That’s just my gut feeling. I don’t have a crystal ball or anything. Of course, parts of Europe have very similar problems. I wouldn’t move to England or France for that reason.

No, the main reason I soured on Trump was his attacking Syria. I’m very opposed to that kind of intervention in the Middle East, and I voted for Trump because he indicated in his campaign that he wouldn’t play that game. He lied, about something very important.

I do. A lot of the states in the US that people suggest I move to—Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, etc.—have been devastated by drugs. I used to love the idea of moving to Montana, but I’ve since traveled through there and lived in a very similar region, and the impact that drugs have had on those places is immense. Plus there’s a culture in those areas that I wouldn’t really fit into.

That's not all his fault, though. The Deep State has still had a massive influence on the foreign policy, despite Trump being President. Especially with the Mueller investigation hanging over his head. However, with the Russia Hoax now put to rest, I predict things will get better foreign policy-wise, slowly but surely. If Trump is re-elected, I think he will try to patch things up with Russia. Until now that has been virtually impossible, and he has had to do certain things he didn't really want, just to bluff and get the Deep State off his back. He will try to drain the swamp more, but that's a slow process and not guaranteed to be successful (remember almost all the career officials in the State Department, CIA, FBI, Justice Dept etc are more or less involved with the Deep State... ). It's not easy for one man to fight a whole system, though.

I also initially judged Trump for making foreign policy mistakes, but now I realise he likely didn't have much of a choice in the matter at the time.
