Hyderabad is the capital of southern India's Telangana state. A major center for the technology industry which has only Microsoft site outside Seattle & major Amazon site, it's home to many upscale restaurants and shops. Its historic sites include Golconda Fort, a former diamond-trading center that was once the Qutb Shahi dynastic capital & part of Hindu Chalukyan empire before that. The Charminar, a 16th-century mosque whose 4 arches support towering minarets, is an old city landmark near the long-standing Laad Bazaar.

What do we know about the genetics of the various demographics native to the city? I work with a bunch of people from Hyderabad, most or all of them are Muslims, and they look completely South Asian (all or mostly acculturated? I believe that's what people say about Muslims in this region, anyway).

Great , I love south India , South Indians have really provided backbone to silicon valley which is one of greatest phenomena of modern age. We have hyderabad origin people in Pakistan , lot of Muhajirs have elite hyderabadi muslim origins.
