I dont think there are so much Muslims and Buddhists or Shamans in this part of Russia.

Blue = ethnic Russian, yellow = non Russians, brown = predominantly non Russians, light = mix.



In the second picture (religions).

Blue = Orthodox Christians, green = Muslims, brown = Paganists.

I do not know, I have found it in a Russian website. I have also checked each region and its subdivisions. The map is pretty correct, especially the North Caucasus and Volga region. I am from Volga region myself. A part of Orthodox followers drop the religion and become Atheists or Agnostics (as I am) because of РПЦ corruption and their false intention. God does not need Churches, Temples, Mosques or Synagogues.

Despite church efforts these areas had always had local cults. They weren't out for show but survived in places far from administrative centers.
