I'm quite content but if I had to choose probably the US? not sure though. My husband was raised in Michigan and misses it dearly.

Norway, no doubt about it. Chill people, stunning landscape, beautiful culture and very prosperous in general. Probably my favorite country I've visited so far, and I've seen most of Europe.

UK, has 21/30 days of paid holiday, free health care, good welfare etc. Spain has great quality of life. French are also known for enjoying life and not being known for dept, etc etc.

All of those are known for capital gain taxes and death taxes too, correct? So no buying a home, fixing it up, keeping profit, upgrading relatively quickly until you own your nice home outright by 35? Then when you die, all that hard work is sucked up in taxes rather than helping uplift your progeny? Additionally, crippling taxation if you choose business or upper end salaried lives.

There are pros and cons in every society.
