    Default Brexit

Could some Brit update what is going on with Brexit (after last episodes)?

Theoretically possible options (in the future) and their outcomes?

We're still technically set to leave the EU on the 31st October. Our current PM says he still wants to negotiate a deal with the EU (even though they've made it abundantly clear many times they're not going to budge on any of their demands) but would be prepared to leave without one if necessary. Some of the other parties in Parliament (along with some ex-Conservatives who are anti-Brexit and have defected to other parties) are attempting to pass certain legislation to block a no-deal Brexit entirely (this has already passed in the House of Commons, and now needs to pass in House of Lords before it becomes law) and to delay Brexit until the 31st January next year; but the Queen has already approved a temporary parliamentary shutdown effective as of Monday, so anyone supporting either of these motions will need to act fast.

Boris has also tried to garner support for an early general election in mid October. His first attempt failed, but he's trying again on Monday - this would result a cabinet reshuffle and IMO is the only way the UK will ever find a solution (either good or bad) to the Brexit dilemma. No meaningful legislation will ever get passed with the current cabinet composition.

So tl;dr: if nothing else significant happens, the UK leaves the EU on the 31st October, likely with no deal. If opposition MPs manage to pass a bill blocking this, then negotiations continue and the UK will ask the EU for an extention until the 31st January (which all EU member states need to approve). If a general election is called or a vote of no confidence is passed, then anything could happen - including Article 50 being revoked and Brexit being completely overturned altogether.

Sorry if this post was a bit of a mess, but well, Brexit is a mess so I suppose it's appropriate. I'm moving in the morning anyway, it will be a relief to not have to hear about this nonsense on every news outlet every hour of every day anymore. Good luck, Britain.

The whole Brexit drama illustrates the problem with democracy. The political class, as a whole, never wanted to leave the EU. That's why for years they have had a group of Remoaners deliberately trying to prolong the uncertainty and chaos of Brexit (harming the economy in the process), so that they increase the chances of reversing it entirely or at least forcing the people to accept a surrender deal to the EU.

In a perfect world the Queen would step in and declare under Royal authority the United Kingdom to be a sovereign nation under her rule, every single politican removed and banned from office, and a new government be established entirely.

Nobody knows for sure to be honest. It looks like a political mess before they announce another extension.

Do you think that Brexit ''drama'' has made bad for Britain's authority and reputation (in the eyes of others)?
Meaning: Starting something which they can not get finished. Their actions reminds more and more a head cut off chicken which is running around. Will anyone take them seriously anymore? Or should?

This is a big scale farce (and national shame)... and totally without question does one support it or oppose it.

It's not the Remoaners causing the uncertainty. The problem is that the British Government can't come to any agreement on how they are going to leave the EU. That's why they haven't signed any deal. It's a complete balls up. A vote was put to the public without any proper exit strategy in place. Just complete incompetence and that is what has caused all the chaos. The British economy will be harmed because they are leaving a large trading block. What is also interesting is that the US congress has said no deals will be signed with Britain if there is a hard border in Ireland.

Brexit happened because old people voted for it to happen. Young people dc much because all they were looking for was work and a place to sleep so an affordable apartment but since and it's still a priority in London for normal jobs like working in Gap or H&M to employ minorities plus EU migrants most have either left for Manchester or completely left the country who wanted to work normal jobs because they ask for 8 pounds an hour unlike EU migrants and that's just it. That's why Brexit happened because conflict of interest of the British born and EU migrants.

Meaning done by total amateurs & somebodies who fucked up? Agree.

And how a hell people even voted then they did't know what they were voting for? I have't understood this ever. I have been against idea of NATO membership referendums in Finland and in Sweden (because of the same reason) ... and those countries citizens still know something about NATO.

But of course I'm not British.
