Unfortunately there are many cases like this. For example, on the Internet there are many sons of whores who do such atrocities, take advantage of people who have a weak mind or problems to influence them and make them make a tragedy like killing themselves, an example is the Russian game called the blue whale that you had to do 50 challenges (many of them dangerous) the final challenge was to launch from a cliff or building that is to commit suicide another example happened in Latin America specifically on YouTube kids latin america (I have no idea if it happened in other places) there a hacker who used the image of this character to terrorize the children by sending them a message, the message said that they would go to the kitchen, grab a knife or sharp object and cut their veins if they did not do so, this figure would appear in The night while they sleep.

Imagine you are a child and you are watching a cartoon video on YouTube and suddenly you see this.(Do not open the spoiler if you are afraid of monsters or Creepypasta)
    Spoiler!

It was just a prank bro!

Trolling is one thing, but yeah, you probably should get a criminal sentence if you use such manipulation to cause physical harm to someone.

    Heavy pranks can be dangerous.

It depends. I’ve been in ultra toxic gaming communities where you could barely go a match without someone dropping a ‘kys’. It’s still of course bad to do this out of blind rage over something stupid like losing in an online game but I think it becomes much more severe when the aggressor makes an encouragement with weight behind it (in detail, on a clear mind, if they’re old enough to know better etc). It’s a case by case thing in my view.

but if they are trolls, they take advantage of mentally weak or troubled people, they are dangerous.

Nope. Being pranked would not be enough for most people to take their own life, although pranksters do have to take some responsibility. After all, they may have potentially caused someone to take their own life which is something they will have to accept. But what about all the people that support the pranksters and the entertainment they provide; aren't they also worthy of some responsibility?

It's similar to schoolyard bullying. The bully will pick on the unsuspecting victim while others will look on and laugh. This encourages the bully but has a potentially huge affect on the victim. The onlooker won't say that they were a part of the bullying but the bully may not carry on if they don't have the support of the onlookers. Ultimately, anyone who finds the humiliation of others entertaining has to accept some responsibility for what happens. But that doesn't mean life imprisonment lel.

Blue Whale is a fake internet hysteria story. It made the rounds several years ago and there is zero evidence. The creator of the game himself admitted that he spread the story about suicides in order to increase ad revenue on VK (Russian social media).

Russian government got awesome pretences to make up restrictive laws on the Internet. Probably a state made propaganda intended to divert attention from insane suicide rates that exist without any games.

A lot of the deaths reported to be from this game would just be edgy suicidal teens who spoke about it once before offing themselves normally. It's just something to blame suicide on, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone did follow through with this shit. Thinking its a big organised thing with curators is pretty retarded though.

Similar to 'bracelet parties' story some years ago, when the news reported a trend of teenagers attending parties where they would engage in various sexual/degenerate acts depending on what colour bracelets they were wearing.

This never existed, but was repeated all over the news all over the world, creating a self-sustaining system where idiots would reference previous news reports, which referenced previous news reports, all the way back to a vague rumour and allegations about one event, by one witness.

This is why you don't let kids roam free on the Internet. You don't need to let your children roll around in the fucking dumpster. The spic parents should be going to jail for doing such a fuckin' piss poor job of raising their brown children.

The Internet is far bigger than anyone understands and it's value isn't in everyone sharing their waste with each other. The vast majority of humans have no clue about the environment they currently exist in. Imagine how many children could get an answer from their parents on "how does the Internet work?" It's probably less than 5% of the population of developed countries, and <1% among the rest of the world.
