that's true, but I wouldn't think that they should identify as just European either. They're biracial with sizable majority European blood, but they seem to prefer to claim that they're "African American", which doesn't make any sense.

Yea the default traits for humans is more melanistic, traits what make people white are additions to the genetic code. Race has and always been political, I don't think people really understand how America functions for better or worse beneath the veneer of television and mass media news. I have seen Asian mixed people probably even be more ostracized because it's less familiar, especially males.

Yea but the average person worldwide isn't really driven by intellectualism, they are a part of the pack mentality, there isn't a lot of gray area in the average persons personality; everyone thinks either left or right and the people in the middle are the silent minority.

Yeah, because people here (not generalizing) usually go by skintone in order to tell the race of someone, so an Olive skinned Italian/Iberian/Greek might be perceived as "moreno(a)", while a fair skinned castizo(a) as "white".
Brazilian view on races/phenotypes is not literal, heck, I have seen many people here calling the Japanese white.
