Are hazel eyes brown eyes?

The way you describe it my eyes would be considered dark hazel. Interesting I’m still so confused to what my eye colour is In anthropology whether they’re hazel or not

Grey eyes are uncommon, in general. Such combination much more.

They are either about equally green-brown or predominantly brown with smaller green parts.
They are generally dark-mixed. Pure brown (including light brown) eyes are simply dark.

So you have a mixed eye colour. Hazel eyes are a mixed eye.

Hazel eyes are not a fixed colour, rather a continuum. Under certain lights will easily reflect other colors.
