I am talking what nation are they rooted most too, where has their culture developed most outside India. Of course they are Nomadic, but surely they acquired some of their culture in Europe be it mythology or religion etc. They have to have some common denominator that binds them closer to one or two peoples over others.

Nowhere, gypsies and native europeans were always separated and this is still exist, for example many hungarian school don't accept gypsie kids, of course this is not official but the segregation does exist mostly in countryside. There are many gypsie in Balkans and Central Europe but their culture and lifestyle are totally strange for europeans. I don't agree that we need an independent gypsie country because 1. it wouldn't work 2. this land is ours, not theirs.

Honestly I dont think they would deserve to get any state, but it could normalise something.
In Slovakia most, not all just dont work, but I believe many of them have pretty good heart, tho their culture and way they were raised throws them to very wrong directions.
I would give them a place in Russia, some vast place XD
