German is considered a very guttural language, with many harsh consonants. (phonetics) Articulated at the back of the mouth. The Germans have a throaty guttural R sound.

(Blutengel are a German gothic band. Blut Engel means blood angel. The word England stems from 'Engel Land'. The word Engel translates as 'angel' in German, Danish, Dutch, etc... but in English it means land of the Angles.)

Chinese sounds nothing like German either... and their far-east accents are very different to Germans and Europeans.
