I won't take into account actual football quality but just personal connection.
5. Mauro Boselli: He gave us a Libertadores, scored a goal in the Club World Cup final against arguably the best football team in history, and came back this year, at 37, to score goals galore. Very, very happy to see this man playing football live.
4. Juan Sebastián Verón: The definition of the Argentinian footballer. Passionate, aggressive, and with South American flair. To talk about Verón as an Estudiantes supporter is to talk about polenta as a North Italian , everyone knows it is a synonymous, the definition of being part of such community, I just don't need to theorize about this man's presence here, just thank him for existing.
3. Juninho Pernambucano: First comeback of a legendary player I saw as a kid. He is the pillar of my aesthetics as a football fan and player. Everytime I play sunday league I ask for the number 8 or 31 because Juninho wore it. A wonderful player even if all of a sudden he lost his free kick ability. 10 times better than David Beckham.
2. Ronaldinho: The archetypical Brazilian footballer. Pure flair and happiness on the field. A classic number 10.
1. ROMARIO: A demi-god. My first idol.
