The Truth about Swedish socialism: Debunking the lies of the left

Many people in the western world are now looking to Sweden expecting to find a brand of socialism to model their politics on. And by “a brand” I’m implying the ideological hope of finally finding a socialism that works - not the genocidal rule of Stalin, the terrors of the DDR or the terrifying implosion of Venezuela. Is Sweden a perfect socialist utopia? Today I am going to answer this question from a small business owners perspective.

However, Sweden has a very mixed economy and model - they have very high taxes, spending and several nationalised industries, but at the same time they have no minimum wage laws (although the trade unions are strong and in effect negotiate them) and the initial bureaucracy to start a business is much smaller than in most other countries.

Same old libertarian bullshit.
Sweden used to have a finely tuned balance between classic capitalist economy and strong trade union power, ensuring a by and large fair redistribution of wealth.
But the unsaid part of the deal was that unions silently opposed immigration of cheap foreign manpower. Immigration was for all practical purposes restricted to Finns!
This model used to work fine til the 80's. Sweden granted their people a good standard of living while hosting a remarkable array of hi-tech multinational businesses.
Now, Sweden is flooded with MENA and African migrants. Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö are becoming racial tragedies, will soon look like London, Paris or Brussels.
Investors (including the staunchest libertarian ones) are happy, coloured manpower is keeping labour cost low, and unemployed Africans are the best possible consumers, they are just subsidized to fuel the demand, it's just what social benefits are for!
Meanwhile, once exemplary Swedish social system is tumbling down. Never get ill in Sweden, their hospitals are now the worst in Europe. You will find much better healthcare anywhere in Southern or Eastern Europe.
The whole country is becoming incredibly dysfunctional. Contrary to the old fashioned postcard image, nothing works properly anymore in Sweden.
The only good thing is that they didn't join the Eurozone, which allows their currency to devaluate constantly and their products to remain competitive on foreign markets.
Other than that... Libertarian assholes are more a problem than a solution.

Well how is France's highly statist economy and model doing?

Even their shorter working hours, longer holidays and free nursery care haven't combined to stop the gilets jaunes.

That's maybe because their benefits (which they have worked for collectively) have been undermined and taken from them for many years. The fact that you're entitled to something, does not mean that the ones who have to give you it aren't a bunch of corrupt thieves.

Well that's my point - France's social model may look great on paper, but it has constantly high unemployment and its ghettos are often many times more violent than equivalent neighbourhoods in Britain and Germany.

France wouldn't have those problems if it wasn't for the fact that they have to serve the needs of your imported socialist voters. Neither would the rest of us. Do you know what the French countryside is like ? I mean.. beyond all the beautiful advertisements for châteaus etc ? Farmers are hanging themselves because they can't pay the rent up there. Entire families are now being herded into the cities. Basically.. what they are getting is what we had during our "glorious" 1960s when the people involved in agriculture (and thus able to sustain themselves) was cut by a third and cities grew exponentially. But then again: poor people vote Labour which is what you want.

This will also lead to Europeans being no longer to sustain themselves and we will have to import food in order to survive - using cheap migrant labour as well as a de-unionised workforce pitted against each other while prices are kept artificially high because of imports. We already see this in Britain and the Netherlands where self-sustainability was surrendered in exchange for imports and where real wages haven't gone up for over 25 years.
