A long-time friend of mine has recently been studying long distance with a very liberal University. He's recently expressed in conversation with myself and another friend that he should acknowledge his privilege, and numerous other Marxist talking points. He's described it as very eye-opening along with numerous other nauseating adjectives, I tried to engage in a thoughtful discussion as to why he would ever want to de-person himself. However, he continues to spout and wield his newfound ideological tools about like a kid who's just found his father's gun.

So I ended the conversation, but I haven't decided if I should even bother to talk to him anymore. Suggestions?

Anyway @OP, these kinds of beliefs often go away on their own. Most people seem to become very liberal during university but a lot change later on.

I would probably just start taking the absolute piss out of him and use the word "privilege" as much as possible every time I talked to him to see how long it takes to drive him crazy.
