    Default Is this justice?

    https://youtu.be/53EbYtSynN8

    Story.

Woman hired a hit man to kill her husband. She and the hit man were caught. Both died by firing squad.

Is this justice in your mind? Why or why not?

In my mind it is because blood spilled must be avenged by more blood spilled.

We would have to know the reasons of these two.

Not try to kill her which is the only thing that would warrant this.

Yes, this is absolute justice if it's accepted by the people.

The anecdote given is extremely vague and devoid of details, circumstances, and any possible mitigating factors... as heard during a full and fair court trial hearing with proper legal defence representation for both the prosecution and for the accused.

A full jury and a judge needs to know the full situation, background history, mental states, full circumstances, witness statements, investigative police detective findings, and scientific evidence, etc, before forming a conclusion and an accurate decision on how lenient or severe the punishment should be in balance to the nature of the crime - rather than going on a witch-hunt and making a rash decision based on emotional impulses and crude accounts of an extremely vague version of events.

Did the person they murdered do something horrific himself? Was he a wife-beater, child abuser, paedophile, did he make death threats if they reported him...? Was there any evidence (or concrete proof) of this? Was there any other cause which could emotionally tip the balance of their behaviour in some act of fear or sheer desperation?

Some would say executing them is justice.... whilst others would argue that killing them is not justice - but an act of murder and revenge.

It depends on the full circumstances and situation, as each situation and full trial hearing in court is unique and different.

I've watched hundreds of crime documentaries over the years with professional criminologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, detectives, etc, giving a full analysis of each case in the documentaries. Most of the cases I've watched left me reeling in sheer disgust and horror with the accused after hearing the full details of their heinous crimes towards innocent people they'd tortured to death, and I think they got what they deserved when they received tough punishments during sentencing hearings in courts after the judges threw the books at them. Some psychopaths and sociopaths can't be changed with medications and correctional treatment, and so they can't ever be released from jail.

Some of the accused were even looking very smug, obnoxious, and arrogant in their attitude in court... and they didn't even show any remorse for the victims and their relatives, no sense of guilt and shame, but instead gloated and smirked about their sick crimes on video camera during U.S. court trials I've seen in documentaries. The hell with people like that.

But some cases have brought tears to my eyes and some empathy for the accused after hearing everything that they'd endured before committing the crime.

Initially a case can appear really sick and make people feel angry and disgusted upon hearing about the surface of the case in the media... and then they hear or get to learn about the full details in more depth, and their views change.

Such as a case I watched in a U.S. crime show where a female killed her father. She was raped and physically beaten for years as a child by her sick and evil father and endured much suffering and mental trauma. He also raped her sister as a child, killed their mother when she and her sister were children - and was never investigated or brought to justice, and years later he tried to rape his grandchildren. She was too afraid to ever report him as he'd indoctrinated her and threatened to kill her if she tried to contact the police or social services. He also made her feel ashamed as a child.

So one day, after years of mental, physical, and sexual abuse as the hands of her father, she snapped in defence and protection of her children and nieces after she found him in their bedroom and he was molesting them, and she flew into a blind rage and randomly killed her paedophile rapist father in an emotionally-driven act of manslaughter.

Even if that homicide case had been an act of premediated murder rather than the finding of it being manslaughter, after hearing everything the father did to her and her sister and their mother and also to his grandchildren who gave witness statements, I still think the jury and judge would have some mercy on her.... and she's already punished enough each day as she has to live and suffer with severe trauma and mental scars from all the memories of her abusive father.

At the intro of the documentary it was flatly stated that she stabbed her father to death... and initially people thought, 'What an awful person she must be to do that to her own father'.... but peoples views softened after learning about the monstrous man that she killed, and all the sick things that he did to her and her sister and their mother in the past.

It's illegal what she did by taking the law into her own hands in a vigilante style attack, and she was jailed with the recommendation of counselling and correctional treatment, but the judge and jury were more lenient by avoiding the death penalty and they also avoided handing-down a long sentence in that case.

She was found to be a very caring and loving person towards her children and sister, and her children would immensely suffer even more without having contact with their mother in a death penalty punishment or in a long absence from her in a lengthy jail sentence.... and they've already suffered enough from the actions of their grandfather without having more suffering caused to them.

Also other mitigating factors which have to be weighed in balance before a person is sentenced, depends on whether or not a convicted person (who is found to be guilty of a crime after a full and fair court trial hearing,) has a sense of guilt, regret, sorrow, and genuine remorse for their crime.
