Why do Polish towns look so much Irish?

When you go to England, Norway, Denmark, Iceland - you see that similarities in building style, that's quite specific.

But, you see the same similarities between Poland and Ireland. Maybe not the most iconic buildings of either, but generally, looking at the towns - they look quite similar. And also quite different from other East European countries.

Why?

There are some similarities between the Hanseatic cities (like the Brick Gothic buildings), but not with cities in England and Ireland.
