I still definitely think Iranians (or rather ethnic Persians) are an oddity for where they are geographically located - they are considerably lighter and I'd even say European-shifted to an extent when compared to Iraqis, Gulf Arabs and of course Pakistanis.

There's no "ethnic iranians", do you mean "ethnic persians"? They aren't the same people genetically although perhaps some Tajiks in western Afghanistan are similar to eastern Iranians.

before coming to Europe I used to think that Afghans and Iranians are essentially same people , but than I saw many Afghans , tbh a lot of Afghans have quite strong central asian strain , while many iranians lean toward other near easterners like Turks but if you take cuacosoid afghans like Pashtuns and Persians than they are close.

That's a very strange statement to make. Iran is a large country encompassing multiple climate zones. Iranians living on the southern coast are more likely to resemble gulf Arabs and Iraqis. BTW Iraqis and Iranians aren't even that different from each other in terms of lightness to begin with from what I've seen IRL.

Also, people from northern Pakistan can be just as light if not lighter than average Iranians. You also forget to mention that Iran borders Turkey and the Caucasus countries to it's northwest, which are lighter than Iran on average.

What I meant was that they seem to be lighter and more European-shifted when taken as a whole than many neighbouring countries, including some like Iraq that are located further west than them.

obviously bulk or iranian population live very close to caucasus so they are quite light skinned.

It's at a crossroads, if you're going to talk about countries located further south then also talk about those located further north(which are definitely lighter). I dont know about Turkmen but they also are probably lighter than Iranians on average.

Anyway you might have a point about Iraq, because the difference even if minimal is there. Iraq is located at a much lower elevation and received significant genetic input from the Arabian peninsula compared to Iran.

Well, the northernmost point of Iran equals the southernmost point of Spain, they have the same latitude as contries as Turkey, Syria or Lebanon (southern iranians are dark due to black slaves imput in the Ormuz coast, and arabs in the frontier with Iran)

But we can point that they are placed very very east yes.

Iranians are "lighter" and somewhat more euro looking for the area they live.

They are bit lighter than Iraqs, but way lighter than Saudis or Pakis.
