SDF has no is enemy anymore. They will continue insurgency that will destroy already shaken Turkish ecenomy if turkey tries creation of a buffer zone. I’ve seen many people criticizing trump for withdrawing our troops from Syria since our support for the Kurds was the main thing keeping turkey from invading sooner(proven by the fact that turkey invaded a couple days after our withdrawal).

I;however, love that trump did this since I’m in favor of drawing down the American empire as a principle. We should only be engaged in such conflicts if WE are directly threatened

I've heard reports that the withdrawal was fake and that they only moved American soldiers out of the way of the Turkish military.

Of course the warhawk politicians are mad about it. They've wanted to put troops in Syria for over a decade, but the attempt to overthrow Assad has clearly failed and it makes no sense to have our people there anymore now that isis is gone. We can't officially support a Kurdish state anyway either because it would go against our actual allies in Turkey and Iraq. It's just anti-Trump nonsense.
