They seem to be very divided on the issue. Support for EU membership shifts somewhere between 50 and 65 (Dutchnews, liberal propaganda, makes it seem that EU support is even higher) percent but most Dutch agree that the EU needs to lose a lot of her budget and her powers and there is a great deal of scepticism and mistrust. There seems to be more, overall, support for an EEC-like construction than for a Nexit (mainly because the UK's Brexit is turning into a clusterfuck).
Wake up and smell the coffee.

The National Assembly adopted a declaration of accession of Northern Macedonia and Albania to the EU, but Bulgaria will monitor whether northern Macedonia abides by contractual terms before supporting it at a later stage for EU membership talks.

But many Macedonians (majority?) want to join the EU. If Macedonia goes through all the trouble of changing its name, but doesn't join the EU after, many people are going to be very mad I assume.
Other Eastern European countries like Poland, Slovakia, Romania etc. have had a net benefit from joining the EU. I don't see why Macedonia would be any different. The EU would be bad for Macedonia - population loss, refugee intake, economic restrictions etc .
Also, the population loss is already going on. Joining the EU won't change much in that regards.
