Default Bro, any Michael Crichton fans here?

Which book/s of his do you most recommend?

    I have never read him.

Most Americans only read at an 8th grade level that is why people like Michael Crichton e.g. Stephen King and James Patterson are so popular. I read at the true college level so I don't read these authors although they can be very entertaining for a nice weekend read they are not the kind of books you would read more than once; if you catch what I am saying here.

I get the most pleasure out of reading histories and biographies.

Project Gutenberg has some good free ebooks on history and philosophy by people of the Caliber of Bertrand Russell and Arthur Schopenhauer etc... I highly recommend this ebook. :

I mostly still read paperbacks, but I will check it out; I read some ebooks, but I need to get a ebook reader so it's less tedious.

well, pretend like I did not tell you this. The Chinese and Russians run a site called http://b-ok.org and it has millions of books just about any kind you could want and then there are IRC channels #bookz on irc.undernet.org. So having all those free pirated books makes an eReader economical as the books pay for the device itself. I currently have 112 ebooks on my eReader and I only paid for 2-3 of them and even then I stripped them of DRM.

    Check out this program :

    https://calibre-ebook.com/

Also, eReaders make a lot of sense because on phones and tablets there are 1.) too many distractions e.g. facebook, email, text etc.. 2.) you have to search for dark areas to read so there is no sun glare 3.) eReaders now have both blue light and warm reddish/yellowish light for nigh time reading etc.. etc.. the screen emulates paper.

With an ebook reader, it can be as simple a matter as picking a subject that interests you, going to a good university's website, finding a course approximate to your interest, downloading one of the recommended texts for that course..

And I would also recommend Calibre.
