samples are from all brazil. Probably a lot are from sao paulo and minas gerais.

i think the caribbeans are the most interesting because they show a clear trend. Even the dominican sample, that is pretty homogeneous is showing more amerindian as the euro goes up.


Looking at it more carefully, if you focus in the same "white" range, for example individuals in the 70-90% euro range, Cuban/Puertorican non white is pred amerindian and Dominican non white is pred SSA. Thats a big difference between both groups.

Something interesting when you look at the tri racial countries of latin america. If you compare the non white ancestry only , you can clearly see that "whiter" puerto ricans and cubans score much more amerindian and "browner" Puerto Ricans and Cubans score much more SSA

Here i made boxplots of cubans, puerto ricans and dominicans in the 70-85% euro range. Interestingly this same range "colonial white" cubans/ricans are much more amerindian than the same range "colonial white" dominicans
