Personally I'm not fan of the big family living on the same house, it's not the case of my italian family as well.
However at the same time I don't like the modern life with very few time allowed to family.
The best would be an equilibrium between those two opposite visions.

I know people who make 120k a year and still live with mommy and daddy.

Albanians too as well, in Kosovo yes, but in Kosovo it is expected that one of their sons keeps the parents to look after them in old age, if you don’t people will look down on you.

Opposite of Americans who get kicked out of the house at 18, although that is changing a little.

Med Europeans have strong family ties. Same is with Balkan Slavs.

In North America there's something called an "in-law suite" for this purpose. It's like a small house/apartment attached to the main house where the parents or grandparents can live. They get their own bedroom/bathroom/kitchen so everyone still has room and privacy when you want it. I don't know how common this is in the rest of the world.

My maternal grandfather left home at age 18. He lived from his work (in Algeria under French occupation). He had a normal relationship with his family, so he always went with them, but he did not live with them anymore. Since he lived in a Sardinian community in Algeria, it is normal that he always knew his family, his friends and acquaintances, but without living with it in the same house.
