I dont wanna go to the army.

When i was younger i tought it was going to be a cool experince going to the army but now i have change my mind. Most of the time there will probably be spent by shuffle shit and carrying stuff and I dont share Swedens current vallues so why would want to waste my teenage year in the army? I know that is kind of hypocritical because i have already wasted time here but that is going to change. My friend who is one year older then me got a letter from the army this year and the same thing will probably happen to me next year. So what should i do to avoid going to the army? Also if i avoid going to the Swedish army then i will have to go to the Finnish army because my dual citizenship and then i would be forced to serve in the coastal jeagers because my bad Finnish and that would be much harder then being in the Swedish army altough i would not be there longer then 1 year. Anyways what should i do to avoid that too?

Just go either one, you won't regret it and will look back with pride and nostalgia at the time you served.

Don't know about Sweden, but in Finland you can get 'C-papers' that essentially exempt you from mandatory service on health grounds. They're apparently not very strict with how they give them out, I know someone who got them simply for having insomnia. I have another friend from Finland who chose to do six months of civil service instead, that's an option if you still want to be able to live at home/etc.

To be honest, I think serving in the army sounds kinda fun and it teaches young men discipline which is something I think our generation lacks - if I were in your shoes, I'd probably at least give it a shot. But best of luck to you with whatever you decide.

It shouldn't be longer than one year probably. Take it as a useful journey, what would you do instead anyway?

I could try that but i got as good health as a normal teen if not slightly better.

I would not spend as much time on the computer instead i will be out much more and hang out with friends and do stuff. And also i will try to find a jobb i kind of like before my parents force me to get a even more boring jobb.

To skip serving the Swedish army is easy. They asked me if I could adapt myself to a tense or hostile environment, and I just answered no (an obvious lie since I've lived through much harder circumstances than army training, but anyway). I was never called to serve. I don't know much about the Finnish army. What I can tell you is I am a dual citizen as well. By Brazilian law, every man 18 years old or older, must serve the army if he is chosen on the basis a short number of exercises, but since I was in Sweden at the time, I just signed a paper saying I wouldn't be able to go through the training for geographic reasons and I was dismissed

My advice is for you to contact the Finnish embassy and ask them for ways you can be dismissed from army duty. In Sweden, you most likely won't have to serve unless you really want to.

They have one it is not war i am going it is just mandatory conscription
