Why do Englishmen seem effeminate compared to Americans?

I have noticed a difference in taste when it comes to what is seen as an attractive male in the two countries, albeit there has been some convergance because of the influence of American films, TV and fitness magazines. Americans prize big musclebound men more, whereas Brits prize slim and elegant men more.

That is right mate, at the end of the day American males are on the whole either awfully overweight/obese or on steroids. Slim and elegant is rather dashing where overweight or muscle bound is quite peasant-like. The former is abysmal and the latter is beastly.

I come from the oldest and finest of families of Virginia which were descended from the landed gentry of England, so I don't think that's the reason.

I have a theory that the bold, strong Englishmen went over to the Colonies while the weaker, more tender ones stayed in the mother country. The strong Englishmen encouraged a more masculine society, that eventually became essentially American. American men model after this, and probably the English settlers were more adventurous and had more testosterone. American culture derived from Anglo culture, mixed with African, and some Germanic. That is what makes it unique. But in England today, we can see even the physicality of Englishmen to be rather weak and frail. It's not trying to be insulting, just a theory. What do Y'all think?

The most famous English male models/ actors are David Gandy- looks Italian or sm, and Hanry Cavill- can play the American Superman role...

I assure you, it is not. From an outsider's perceptive, England is regarded with much more respect than America is. The most common view of Americans is that they are ignorant, racist, lazy and fat. Just look at the OP, he is literally a fat ignorant racist.

Actors do not exist for setting beauty standards ( but Hanry Cavill does to some degree and fits into the same mold of dark haired Superman type/ old Hollywood type)
